Well I was curios about what being a web designer paid if you were pretty good at it. Also I was curios about what programs are used in web design and about how much lessons would cost here and at a place that teaches computer programs and junk. Just curios. All helpful posts are very appreciated.

If its for someone who can afford it, on a non-personal basis (i dont know them other then as someone hiring me for the job) I get anywhere from $35 - 70/hr. People who are even moreso ----- (aka doing sony, independant film websites, etc.) get paid generally... $150/hr ish.

For friends, I generally just charge them for what was involved in the template.

It is an EXTREMELY fast paced, and competitive market. Photoshop is my main program for making the design, and flash I use for coding a few designs, but I generally have a friend of mine code my web designs (I just design). ----- lessons when it comes to any form of art are virtually useless. All they tell you is how to contrast colors correctly, how lighting effects shading, etc. most of the other stuff a mentor or public tutorial sites can show you how to do it.

Well I'm a webmaster and i have made more than 20,000 in the last 3 months. If you are good you can make websites for big companies and you get big money. I made the site for soundwaters in my state and i got payed $4000 dollars and i get paid 1000k a month to update it. I have only spent around 15 hours on this site so i guess im making over 400 dollars an hour. I have other smaller projects too.

Well on coded layouts alone you can make anywhere from 1000-Millions depending on who it is your working for. On maintainance you can make jsut as much.

    You will need,

    Dreamweaver, Golive
Flash ( For Flash Templates )
    Photoshop (For Templates)
PHP programs such as PHP Nuke or any others.
You will need to learn HTML, PHP, XML, JAVA (not necessary)and maybe some A++.

Sorry, but you did not make $4000 for the initial design of soundwaters, nor do you get paid $1000/mo to maintain it. A site like that would cost $500ish max and $100ish a month for a true ----- to design and maintain it. It is coded poorly, sliced poorly, and incorrectly laid out.

As a webmaster (like Shaggy, whom owns a good 10+ sites) it is fairly easy to make multiple thousands of dollars in a month, but keep in mind to make that much money, you have to give up alot of money. for a web DESIGNER or CODER you have issues making that type of money unless contracted by ----- companies where your portfolio would have to be nearly half the size of all of new york to get contracted with.

Well i have worked with them and this was their layout and they liked it. It was 2500k for the design plus the number of hours it took us to get the design ready. I make 1000 a month because i have to go to their headquarters every 2 days to update it. I currently run my schools website and newspaper site. I did these for community service and due to this my school is helping me pay for harvard.

Stop posting, or will I have to e-mail a representative of the company asking for the name of the individual whom did the design, and how much they paid for it and what the upkeep costs are. Your simple lack of ability to process grammar correctly shows you aren't remotely geared for that of a Harvard entry-level student, and as mentioned, the job on that site was done horribly. Also, most schools (atleast around here) have a set of students whom take care of their website, its nothing special, nor is a local paper website.

Congratulations, I was 16 at the time I was expelled, and I am already near done with my associates degree. My SAT was nearing a 1540 zone (I never had the chance to officially take it, but I have taken college placement tests which placed me in the 1450-1550 zone) and my ACT actual score was 32. I also had a 4.23 cumulative GPA (due to AP classes at the time of expulsion). If you want to compare stats id be happy to.

Considering your spelling in your posts, your 100% outrageous prices given, and your apparent money making abilities (at 20,000 per 3 months) at the age of 15, you don't even need college, considering you make more than the average US citizen at... lets see... $36,000 (sources from census) after factoring in the multi-million/billion dollar bigwigs by nearly... 2x that, you are more than fine off without a degree from anywhere. Also, just out of curiosity, what do you intend on studying, if in fact you do get into Harvard?

Well really i wanted to fallow law, but i dont know due to my english not being on par with other students. I would rather go to princeton to take one of their new science courses. I dont really want to be a web designer. Congrats on the high GPA. Well my GPA is also higher than 4.0 noting i take more than 4 AP classes ( i still need to take the tests though)

Harvard is a big option due to my dad being an alumni.

I dont like how your calling me a liar and i would rather we move on due to the fact that we are Spamming this thread.
