Ok well ive decided to get a new pc! My dad recently bought this one and i like it too so i was thinking of maybe getting it. Only problem is i want more of a gaming pc but if i upgrade the gfx card on this one i think itd be really good 2 play most of the new games out!

Here are the exact Product Specifications of the pc im thinking of getting

    Product Specifications

    PC Thinkin of Buying

check the specs and please tell me if theyre decent and if its possible to update the card to say something in the GeForce 7000 Series

    OR

If anyone can find me a better one with vista pre-loaded and has the multemedia center remote!

    Price range is 1300-1400 Canadian

If making a custom build please reccomend the best parts! I also need a LCD monitor and the one from futureshop is bundled with a 20inch one!

Remember canadian sites only..plz and thx :) :D

those specs are pretty good but with the price their are some concerns.

The PSU is probably weak and wont be good for gaming

the RAM is prob a low speed like DDR2 533 or DDR2 667

The tv tuner might be integrated into the GPU and a new 7600 wont have one

the monitor is extra and will prob run an extra 300

also there is no Sound car or speakers so gaming wont be too realistic without 5.1 at least and integrated sound takes away from the FPS

Overpriced I say and never get a OEM system, they'll lock you out anything they dont like, eg overclocking. You'll build yourself a much better pc for the same money.

Calm down mate, it takes time for us to select good parts, copy links, compare and check performance and stuff. I'm sure somone will help you soon, just be patient. I'll have a look now.

    Motherboard:
    Biostar Tforce 965PT
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...facture=BIOSTAR

    $130
    CPU:
    Core 2 Duo E6300
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...nufacture=Intel
    $250

    Hdd:
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...facture=Seagate
    #130

    Ram: if overclocking:
    Team Xtreem PC2-5300 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-667 3-3-3-8
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...m%20Group%20Inc.
    $330
This ram will, if your want, go up to ddr1000+, when on 1:1 this means 7*500= 3.5ghz.

Ram if not overclocking: I'd get another 320gig drive if you select these.
    Corsair Value Select PC2-5300 2X1GB
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...facture=CORSAIR
    $220
cheap ass ram if, will get your e6300 to ~ 2.7 ghz.

Case: or choose yourself one you like.
Coolermaster CAC-T05 Centurion 5 Aluminum ATX Tower Case
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...re=COOLERMASTER
    ~$60-100
Pick yourself one if you like...
    Psu:
    Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W
    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...facture=CORSAIR
    $160
    Very good quality psu.
    Vga:
    8800GTS 320mb
    Will come soon.
    ~$300
Almost the same performance as the 640mb version, but 100$ cheaper.

SOmething like that, i'm sure others will correct me. Also, you should add a $10 cardreader and $35 dvd burner and your done. Assuming you've already got a OS.

Thats true, but mostly, you just send it back to the shop, and they'll handle it. Depends on which brand. I edited my post with a build, dont buy it yet as Im sure you can save on some things (waiting for other to check).
