I have to write a Research paper on Media Bias and the effects of it. I need help in finding more info. I need Examples of Bias, and then after effects and stuff. We can also use this topic to talk about the media.
the media is run by liberals and they blame everything on bush there you go oh and the effects of that issss......50% of all americans are retards and believe the media so now 50% of americans hate bush
a very large proportion of reporters and new analysts identify themselves as liberal. the american media has a ----american Bias news channels tend to be full of shid.
Simple examples of "Media Bias" would be: A news channel taking the side of a murder, who only killed her abusive husband who raped her and she couldn't do anything about it. The news channels would only share the abusive husband part, not the fact that she killed another human being. The husband may have been abused as a child and even the woman could have done something to lead him to "abuse." Another bias, is the control corporations have over the media. For instance, Clear Channel chooses who and what is played and talked about on their channels. They choose to play music that is mainstream/ culturally acceptable, or choose to kick show hosts off the air for talking about culturably unacceptable topics, key example would be Howard Stern. The reason the media has a "bias" is mostly so they can appease the masses, there is no way they can please EVERYONE, but they can try to please as many people as they can. That in itself is a bias. The media chooses to go against Bush, and his actions only because the citizens are starting to blame him for everything. Not every news station is blaming things on Bush, they also blame it on certain groups, like political activists, terrorists, etc. The news only talks about things relevent, well at least local stations that only need to pertain to topics related to their viewing area.
Watch the documentry, OutFoxed. It portrays how Fox news is far from balanced and stuff. Really good.
Watch FOX and you'll see media bias in full swing. Theres no freedom of press. Whatever the owner believes is what you get to hear/see. Katrina, The whole Iraq and war on terror, global warming issues.
See I don't totally agree with that. I agree slightly that the media tries to show what people want to see, but the reason that the Bush administration is portrayed in a negative light is because this is a war-time administration; it's not supposed to be happy dappy. If you want some happy dappy bs propaganda then watch Fox News, otherwise deal with the real world.
Fox IS bias...but then, there is the other media, which is just as biased. The diffrence, alot more of the other, then just of fox.
The most unbiased news network imo is nbc. CNN and Fox are bias because of their strictly american audience while nbc has a wider variety of viewers from different cultures.
It all boils down to the way the media portrays things. At that, you're only going to see what the station owners allow you to see. That usually means that it's going to reflect their personal beliefs, whatever way they happen to swing. The only truly unbiased media is a camera taking a picture of what happened. No commentary, no nothing. You make your call from the picture as to what happened. No bias involved. With bias, you simply gather the information from a variety of sources and make your own opinion. Blindly following a certain media outlet makes you just as bad as those who use the media to display their own opinions.
