Well I'm going to buy an x360 soon but I got some questions to be cleared up before I buy it.

Does your x360 really heat up and become bricked? I heard rumors about that before and I'm wondering if that is actually true?

I have a wireless router right. But, I don't know if it is good enough for xboxlive. It is a 2.4GHz wireless router called D-Link DI-514, 802.11g. And it goes at about 54mbps. Is it good enough for xboxlive or will I lag a lot while playing online?

the heating problems are probably fixed by now..im pretty sure they are, but i must warn you the system itself outputs a lot of noise!

as for wireless it depends how far your 360 is from the router itself..oh yes n im sure you know but incase you don't you need the wifi adapter for the 360 which is about $100..360 isnt wifi ready..just a heads up

About your wireless router, that should be fine enough for an average ping on xbox live, But it really depends on your ISPs download and upload speed.

I got one and it doesn't heat up to insane levels ever in the month I've had it.

The wireless router is fine but so you know I recommend Buying a wireless adapter other then the one made by microsoft. Why? Becuase I've heard it isn't too great and it runs through USB which will cause problems when gaming in games where you need all the memory devoted to you owning people.

For the same price you can get the Linksys Wireless gaming adapter which I have and loved since my ps2 days.

I'm pretty sure D-Link makes one also. If you still have more questions feel free to ask and I hope this helped you

I've had my 360 since near launch and has been working perfectly fine.
The router is fine but if you're gonna be hosting, try not to do something online with the comp at the same time since xbl sometimes puts a strain on routers when doing other things.

heating problems are fixed, yields on Xenos and Xenon are up so they lowered the voltage to them thus solving th heat.

Also anythign will overheat if you block airflow, make sure that you system doesn't have it's airflow impeded.

I really don't have a problem with the xbox being noisy since I have music or some shooting going on...
As for overheating, got myn a month after launch date, I bought something called a fan stand that blows air in thru the bottom. Haven't had any problems with the overheating, nice thing to have if your worried. Cost me about 20 bucks.

My xbox360 froze up a lot when I first got it but after I broke it in by playing a bunch of games its really no longer a problem. this is kind of obvious but just make sure you dont play your xbox when its on the carpet because the static will kill it fast. If your router lags a lot you can just get a new one they arent too much money.

don't bother with 3rd party acessories to help cool it.

just do somethign to stand it maybe a half an inch off the ground(4 small pieces off wood work) so air can flow, then make sure that ti's airways are unobstructed and that it's located ina cool area.

it's just like a PC. except it has less RAM and a small harddrive.

    I love my 360
I have the same router i think
It runs fine, I don't lag and I'm pretty far away from my router
It doesn't overheat, I've left it on for a couple days straight and no problems
It does run a little bit loud though
And you can be on the computer and be on xbox live at the same time, I do it all of the time and there isn't a speed difference or anything
The wireless adapter doesn't use a USB, it connects to the ethernet port in the back of the 360
