Guild Wars - Slow Download Speed

I get upwards of 700kbps downloading, however, when downloading guild wars maps and stuff, i get like, 60ish. Why? It's quite annoying.

 

its all about the servers and how far you are from the server.

 

I download from servers in new Zealand at 150-200kbps, and thats across the world. The servers in the US.

 

The would mean that the servers are busy.

Or they got crappy hosting?

 

I download slow but that's because I have low RAM/---- GFX card, what's your card and RAM?

 

RAM and Gfx Card have no effect on download speed whatsoever.

Maybe a lot of people are downloading from the same server?

 

I answered his question over MSN. Since just about everything is server side in Guild Wars. Imagine if they allowed Maximum download speed? The game would be INCREDIBLY laggy.

So, they try to cap it at around 70-80 kb/s

 

If you have troubles waiting, I would advise downloading all the files when you have the time.
Just add -image to the end of your Guild Wars shortcut.
ex.
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
That's how mines looks, and if you enter that and click the shortcut, it will load up the download screen and download all files available.
