on my WDC 160mb its temp is 48c on the other WDC 40gb the temp is 37c. I recently lost one of my case fans because it broke, now i only have 2. My mobos temp is 46c and processor is 43c. Why is it the 2 hard drives temp different?
the 160gb might have a higher power consumption, and the other drive might be closer to a fan. if you want to even out the temperatures, get a hard drive cooler.
I've been having the same temps with my new 160 Gb WDC stays around 48-51 even with a fan blowing on it.
Does the temp cause you any problems? Is the drive louder than it should be? If not, then you really shouldn't worry..
that's weird, sure ti's not a sensor misreading? your boards temp is measure ona random point and is meant to estimate the temp in your case yet your CPU runs cooler... that's weird. sensor error maybe.
no i think its correct because i got that special fan for the cpu, and i have 1 fan on 2 sides blowing towards the hsf. thats why the cpu is lower, those are the only 2 onces that i have btw, no more fans. And i touched both HD, and it really is hotter
