Alright, so yesterday I updated McAfee, my firewall/virus protection blah blah blah, it required a restart so I reset my computer. When I got back on it seemed to be running fine, when I tried opening firefox, nothing loaded like it usually did before I did all the updating and resetting. It was so incredibly slow I felt like I was back on dial up from when I was a kid. I tried other browsers as well and still, nothing at all, just unbelievable slowness. I have a serious hunch that it's my RAM but I can't be sure, I need a mem test if any of you guys have one that works right :) , but i've tried everything there was to try. I defragged, scanned for viruses, scanned for spywear and adwear and every type of wear there is lol, cleaned out all the temp internet folders and cookies and all that private data bs, still nothing. I knew to come here even though im basically dead on these forums now-a-days and haven't posted here in ages, but i've seen some people get some good help here, so I figured i'd come back, if anyone has any idea AT ALL, please pleas please help :D

    thanks

Well, its definately nothing to do with your RAM pal.

Apparently the update for MCaffee messed with your internet settings or it set up a protected port that you might use to connect to the internet or to your router, If you use a router to connect to the internet be sure to check that and make sure you check all of the ports it needs to be open to run.
