I have a 120 gig external that easily hold my whole desktop HD until I can get a new larger one. Problem is that I use an external that uses this weird transfer software called WD Passport, but I dont think it can allow me to backup my HD when most of it is software. Am I going to have to uninstall, put in the new HD, and have to reinstall it all or is there a trick to this?
You can run Norton Ghost which makes a complete image(duplicate) of your entire HD. Mainly your Boot drive. I use this when I just finished reformatting a computer and install all the software, fonts, etc.. on to it and I make a mirror image of that HD, so when it crashes, I can just install the mirror image and whala all done.
Genuis I used to have noron ghost and a whole back up thing on my old computer but now I don't I think I should do it because I lost everything when my other comp. got ****** up and i had to format it, i think i should do it again!! Thanks for reminding me
