There are so many Gfx sites out there and i was wondering how they all work. Like how can every gfx site have more than 20 people. So could you all post how you got your members. Conor.
well its the people that make the Gfx Sites so depending on who is there and what you can give is what makes a Gfx site
Either building rep on other sites as a designer and gaining "friends" or having a big wallet with good ad placements on other sites.
Come up with something original for your site, new and fresh ideas are rare when it comes to graphics sites. That's why most of the new ones have very few members and aren't that active, the already established sites have the same exact things and are more popular with them. Bring in something new and original that's interesting and market it correctly, you'll get members.
i agree with axiom thats what attracts me to new sites although if they have a big userbase that usaully attracts me too
if your asking those kind of questions, you obviously don't have the originality to open and maintain a sucsessful graphics site.
Make a nice site+forum, make sure it has originality and interresting subjects on it. After you're done with it, advertise. Wear banners that advertise your site, avaters and many more. Post up tutorials that are advertised with your site. There are many ways of advertising. Host up some interresting contests, one of the best ways of getting members when doing a Contest is a Referral contest. Also a great way of it is getting allot of expierenced people to the site. If your site is full with ------ people than it probaly won't grow that big, or atleast it would be inactive.
