256mb of RAM is not alot for a bloated Windows XP especially if you have other programs running like AV or whatever. You need a little bit more or you will keep having trouble working with Adobe. Just look at the system requirements for Adobe:

    - Intel® Pentium® III or 4 processor
    - Microsoft® Windows® 2000 with Service Pack 3 or Windows XP
    - 192MB of RAM (256MB recommended) <------- take a look at that
    - 280MB of available hard-disk space

hmm i dont know what the problem would be, maybe you have a lot of programs running at once? cuz i only have 256MB of RAM and like 20GB free and my PS runs smoothly (unless i let it sit for a while then it goes a bit slow for a few seconds)

Xp proffessional uses up alot of ram. SO I suggest you get another 256 ram. And I suggest you ditch that celeron, they have a low l2 cache.

Eh, I think I might just get some more ram soon...hopefully..

The celerons gonna have to stay...

cant wait till I get my new computer...either next christmas or the year after ... most likely next one.... 10.5 months remaining....

you can pull the celeron out and sell it. Buy a second hand pentium 4 thats about 2ghz, and it will feel so much faster. its easy to replace a processor too.

3.4 ghz p4, 1 gig of RAM and A 128MB ATI graphics card, and it happens to me, it depends on how big the task your doing is and how long it takes. just one of those things ¬_¬ (it doesnt freeze, it does that thning where the tool bars and that dissapear)

I think I've found the source of your problems. You all use Intel processors. They have low L1 and L2 caches. AMD's Athlon64 line comes with standard 512k L2 caches, as opposed to the Celeron's 128k cache.

For the time being, I think a stick of RAM ought to solve your problems. When you get your new computer, make sure you have an AMD processor. ;)

Less than its Intel equivalent (depends where u get it from), AMD pride themselves on selling cheaper performance componants. If you're buying in the US i would recommend www.newegg.com and if your in the UK try www.ebuyer.com, about elsewhere i dnt know, you'll have to scout around yourself for that :P
