In Febuary my mom is getting income tax or something like that so I get some money I can either get a PS3 and a few games or upgrade me computer Well right now I have 2.00G of ram 1.60GHz Intel Core Duo E6400 @ 2.13GHz NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE GFX Card Oh and if anyone says 360 or Wii I already have both.
I say get a PS3, hell you got a better computer than I do right now. Be happy with it and stick with it for a few years but yea get a ps3 and a few games.
toss in a single GeForce 8800GTS and that system will be around 1-5 times as powerful as the PS3 when it comes to gaming. though if you really want to PS3, get it. someone else had the same cunundrum... http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...MVIEWTMP=Linear if you can get a good price on a PS3 it's a decent console. IMO it's a ripoff compared to the xbox, but it's still a decent console. also in 6 moinths that 8800GTS will be around 30-40% cheaper the PS3 probably won't be. Also, consoles last longer.
Depends how you look at it. If you are more of a gamer get ps3,especially since in 2007 games like Heavenly Sword,MGS4,Motorstorm etc. are coming(maybe even FF XIII comes in 2007...ditto why would they advertize a game which wouldn't come atleast 8 month ahead). The only games i can see worth getting for PC are Alan Wake(also for Xbox 360) and Crysis(which by developers,will never appear on consoles).
actually it woudl eb the other way around, if your'e more of a gamer get the better GFX card. The PS3 is the pormans gaming console. it doesn't have to be upgraded once a year to be able to play current games well... it(the PS3) just plays games on much lower settings.
Upgrade your computer, simple as that... computer to me is just so much better than consoles. sure, alot of releases don't go on the PC, but gaming is so much more enjoyable for me (Mostly FPS) also, most games that are on comp are games that can last for along time. you aren't always buying new games over and over again. surely there is nothing wrong with that, but you do spend alot of money.. games like cs, wow, etc. but considering you can play those games on the computer atm, perhaps buying a ps3 would be the better choice for you. But yeah, personally i wouldn't. cuz tbh, computer > all consoles combined.
It all depends on this one factor......Do you have an HDTV? Otherwise the ps3 wont look much better than a ps2 game. if u do have hdtv...go ahead and get a ps3 and a few games. later this year something like an 8800GTX will drop price and you can get it for christmas/birthday. Their are some really good cames coming out for ps3 this year... If you get ps3 now..ull have time to save up for nvidia 8800GTX so you should have if before Crysis comes out in september
You already have so much this is kidna hard, but it does depend on what type of games u play more, if u play computer games a lot I would say up the comp or get a more comfortable chair ^_^ if you liek consoles more, then by all means get ps3, although u may be a lil more overwhelmed since u alreayd have 360 and wii
another thing to consider PS3 games don't really look any better than xbox 360 games. unless you really want a PS3 specific title, go with the new graphics card which woiudl cost less and offer better GFX.
