Weird from an anti-ipod banner wearer...unless my eyes read wrong... Go for the Wii! Although I suppose it depends. If you really want an MP3 then first of all you shouldnt bother with an Ipod, they truly are terrible pieces of hardware, with far too many flaws and way over priced. You will be able to get a Creative or Archos product years more advanced (especially Archos) then the Ipod for the same price. Back when I bought my Archos the Ipod Photo had just been released. By Archos cost less then a normal 20Gb old school Ipod, is Mp4 capable and had 30Gb storage, colour monitor and the lot, plus a CompaqFlash slot to further enlarge it if I need to, really handy for me in particular cos my digital camera takes these cards so once I've filled one with piks I just load them onto my Archos and wipe the card! So, yeh, if you love your music you can get a much better piece of kit for less, or a much more advanced piece for the same price. If you're a gamer though, or dont think you'll fully use the capacity of MP3's like the ipod then get the Wii. LoZ:Twilight Princess is one of the best games (if not the best) I've ever played, probably even better then Ocarina, and Wii Sports and Red Steel are both great too! (plus others, those are just the three that have really shone with me ) Its a fantastic console all in all, lol.
Buy iPod, currently Wii's don't play DVD's(atleast that's what I have heard) Get Wii when it plays DVD's =P
Ipod, or if you have enough money just get a 360 or PS3, they can both play music. Wii cant, and it cant play dvds, you cant go online, download content, play in hd, etc. Wii is the console with the least amount of features out there. Ipods can play music, videos, and you can get free podcasts from iTunes when you install it. iPod ftw.
I buy something different then an Ipod, I had one got stolen, plus I didnt really like it. I dont need an Ipod because I have enough CD's and I can drive so yea...no need for Ipod really. I wouldnt get a Wii, I dont think they will be that fun for long really. Id buy the HD-DvD player for my 360. Or since im hardcore and already have them id go buy the Band of Brothers box set and the Rocky Anthology(its only 35$)
most of the people who disagree on the wii, don't and haven't even owned/played a wii. believe the wii users. I, myself don't have an Ipod, but so many friends have it with so many problems occuring here and there. i'm not saying this is guarantee'd, but my friend has sold about 3-4 of them to other people.. and its been returned and asked to be fixed by 3 of them. unlucky? possibly. but i thought i'd just mention it. the wii on the other hand, well.. sure its a low price, but its also alot of fun. if you consider yourself a more out doors person, then ofcourse the ipod is going to be for you cuz the wii will be in your house or w/e. apparently the dvd Wii is coming out this year, i'm sure the price will be increased so ask yourself: do you have a dvd player? if you answered yes, is there a point in paying more for what you do not need? People say that there is no online. they're correct, there is no online AS OF NOW, but there will soon (no, not a year or so, but possibly couple of weeks).. Also, considering you've patiently waited this far already, you may want to wait and see the wii's future.. so maybe getting the ipod now may be a good choice. theres games like zelda and ---- that can last you a good 50-60 hours gameplay, but if you can patiently wait till other great titles out you may want to wait till then.
Who doesn't have a dvd player. why wait for it to come out for wii mine is actually resting on my dvd player. No need for 2
Also ignore the idiot that said the Wii didn't go online. Admittedly the feature to play multiplayer over the internet hasnt been kicked off yet, but I am already browsing the net, downloading great games and updates, and sending e-mails via my Wii. The multiplayer wont be too long either! The whole point of half the technology in the Wii is just to keep it online as much as possible, so its CONSTANTLY downloading updates; out of the many Wii Channels, three or four are completely web based (Weather Channel, News Channel, Browser Channel and Shop Channel) and others like the Photo Channel and Mii Channel are optimised through going online! Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh but saying the Wii has no online function is just plain ignorant... Also, if you want DVD's from the Wii I bet it will be the same cost, if not cheaper, to just buy a DVD player, which will also probably have better support for many more kinds of Disc.
If the store you go to has the Wii in stock, go for it. If not, get the ipod. It really depends on your personality in relation to music, or video games.
what is the point in this thread? wii vs ipod... hm 2 completely different things... stationary games vs portable music... this is your choice bud no one elses because you already know the products are good enough for your money personally I say you get the best of both worlds and buy a psp... along with a 2gb mem stick for the music. so lets see you'd be gettin a 2gb nano ($200) plus an amazing portable gaming system for roughly ~$250 (including the 2gb mem stick) since when do you need to be outdoors just to use an ipod? im very confused here...no i get what your saying but that really just isn't a good point. theres not many people that would go outside to listen to their ipod.
