I hope these specs will help you figure out what memory is right for me. I'm looking to upgrade to more speed, around 512, (1 gig seems too much, 100 bucks?!) so what memory should i choose?

I heard pc2100 are the worst and I have...

    Thank you everyone!

You can decide two things, only upgrade the ram, just buy another pc2100 512mb stick or just upgrade your whole pc, because if you want to upgrade more then the 512mb stick, its comming to a point when its not more worth buying all those upgrades and you'd better invest money in a whole new pc.

he's right, you're better off saving up money for a new pc since the minimum requirements of newer programs especially games are getting higher now

get the cheapest kit you can. pretty much all DDR14000 RAM gives -------agressive timings at 333mhz.

    also PC ratings are shid.

My parents will buy a new comp later so I don't need to save for a new PC. I have little money anyways, so I might as well go for another pc2100.

I check out ebay (typed pc2100 512 as search) and I see all these different brands. Kingston and eliston or something.
    Which is better !?

    Does this look alright?

    Thanks for everything guys.

Kingston is better, but I'd get memory from a big retailer.
    newegg.com is great.

If you want top performance, get a new system, I support building, if you REALLY can't do that, then you needa go back to pre-school sucking on your thumb or sucky. As for you, try to get OCZ, G.SKILL, or GeIL ram in your new system for gaming, for now, go with Corsair value ram.

it's not a matter of needing to save, it's a matter of not wasting.
