OK, so today, my cousin got one of those iPod rippoffs they make in china that come with manuals that are written in terribly broken english. It has the ipod design (polished metal back, wheel navigation) but doesnt claim to be an iPod (its called a "portable mp4 player"). Her dad is insistent that it has the same quality as an authentic iPod. I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Anyone have any information whether or not this is true?
LOL Get a real iPod and show it to him there will be a difference. If he doesnt notice well hes on crack sorry I <3 my iPod
No offense to chinese people but - Those fake iPods SUCK. I bought one of them thinking that they were cheap. But one day, all the music stopped and something was rattling inside. I thought: 'what the heck' and opened it up and I saw THAT THE SOLDER HAD COME APART!!! WTFOMFGBBQ!!! OK, maybe you get what you paid for, but GET A REAL iPOD! Dont be cheap! Its worth it! PS dont get an ipod, get a zune!
No. Zunes are ugly. Back on topic. The fake ones, are just cheesy flash players with an even cheaper, poorly made case. They work. But why would you ever want one?
A Zune, which DRMs all the music you put on? A Zune where money from each sale is given to the music industry because its assumed the customer will most definitely pirate music? Nah. But yeah, after futher inspection of the thing, its a total peice of junk. However, talking with her dad who got it for her proved pretty futile. I mean, the guy insists there's a hard drive in there (not flash memory).
My iPod has screwed up a lot, but only cause I used to just unplug it without ejecting it from the computer. I didn't believe any of that crap, but it seriously messed up the firmware I think. I had to do a bunch of crap to restore it. However, I think for the most part, iPods are pretty cool. I do like the Zunes somewhat, but I think the iPod gets the job done. I just wish I had waited three more months to buy mine so that I could have gotten a $50 price drop, but I can't see how I lasted so many years without it. I don't know what I'll do if it breaks or anything. I use it all the time. By the way, if you didn't notice, I was endorsing real iPods. I think anyone that buys the cheap fakes is pretty cheap themself.(No offense to your uncle, but well... yeah) They might work, but they'll never be as good.
The pros on the fakes that its really cheap thats all. A 1GB fake can go for 50$ in China and plays the exactly the same as other player with some extra features like FM radio. The cons is that it isn't built to last and it lacks wheel feature. You should check wikipedia about it ->
i love my iPOD, use it all the time including now, had it for about 5 months now and i dunno what i would have done without it. I use it on the bus to college everyday, sometimes when im in college, when im walking the dog, all the time. I dont think one of those cheap ones from china would still be going as my iPOD is
lol i have a real ipod, but fake ones are fine too. they still play and they are much cheaper. its just your opininon. sound quality may not be as good but who cares
i own one of the fake ipod it works well just no scroll wheel but the button take 2 secs to react if you are playing somthing not bad when i only payed 55$ for it (1gig) just do not upgrade the firmware i thought about it and when i looked on fourms it broke them and couldnt be fixed.
