    Hi everyone!

I just got Steam, and i got CS:S.

I've never played this before, and atm my FPS is horrible, but I'm improving it.

I've troed playing a couple games, and this is impossible.

Anyone have some good links I can check out to help me get started, I have no idea how to play it. And the only CS:S homepage I can find is where to buy it on Steam....

    Thanks

well, there are many differant ways to increase your frames. The best ways I've found are lowering your detail settings and making an autoexec, if you want I can give you my autoexec, it's a version of "casey's config" I mixed up a bit to compensate for my piece of crap system.

The best I can say for getting better is just practice, and definately raise your fps, i used to play with extremly bad frames and after you increase them it is a lot easier to play. For practice, I'd say just check out various servers until you find one you like (beginner friendly, low ping) and just play on it frequently. As shocking as it may be there are still some people out there that are willing to give you a helping hand in-game :D

make your crosshair small, it's easier for you to aim especially when you using rifles like AK and Carbine... idk but I think it's easier to aim in CS:S than in CS 1.6 since the recoil of the guns doesn't affect your aiming that much in CS:S, try playing CS 1.6 too

Intel cards aren't so good to play games like CS:S, and if u want to play with bots do this :

    1) Go in CS Source.
    2) Click, Make server or how ever it's there called
    3) Set password, choice map, choice how many players
    4) U'll see there option Bots, select it and select how many bots and in which team.
    5) PLAY AND KILL !

    Gac.

Any ideas? I really dont want to buy a new gfx card, not in the budget atm.

Make sure your resolution is as low as possible, exit any and all background programs, defrag, keep your computer in a cool place (or place actual fans beside to cool)

Basically the less stress (Heat, CPU, GPU, BG Apps) the higher FPS.

I have a P4 2.8GHz, x1600PRO 1024mb RAM, and I get crap FPS. Between 5-30 on most maps, and on certain maps with only like 8-16 players I get upwards to 50. I rarely get over 100 (only with under 8 people on some maps)

    Ugh
