Ram Question

    in task manager
    total 522mb, available 410mb, but total processes combine to barely 30mb ram
    so where's that other 82mb ram going to?
    i jus switched from onboard video to a graphic card a while back, do i need to mess with some settings or something, or is that normal?

    You could try disable onboard video in the bios.

    i already tried that, and my old intel onboard shows that its disabled on the device manager

    Well another thing that will take up memory is device drivers. You can try to disable those but thats getting really advance and in danger zone of some stuff not working right.

    You can download this it will show you what turns on when your computer turns on. And you can disable what you don't need.

    There will always be a portion of RAM in constant use by the OS you can't change that.

    That's right. You can never have the full 512MB at your command. RAM is being used even as you look at this page.
