After getting my new comp i couldnt install Far Cry due to the fact i had lost my cdkey.

Luckily i remember 4/5 parts to it yet i need to know where the key is located/stored in my computer which still has far cry installed.

What happend is even though i copied the whole game folder from my other computer it still asks me for my cd-key, which means it is NOT in the game directory.

So i was thinking maybe its in the registry somewhere..

    Can anyone help??

Did you copy it from a other computer? if so then you wouldn't find it in the registry.

But you would find it in the old computer which you originally installed it in using your Cd Key.

But no, you wont find it in the pc you copied it to.

There is programs who make a whole computer copy and move it to a new computer with all settings the same and no re-instalation of anything is needed.

You can find them in the registry keys, i do not remember how to access them though, but am sure someone else would tell you.

Type regedit in the run box, but I'm not sure that you will find it if you aren't used to the registry.

Yeah, go to start -> run -> type regedit
I would guess it would either be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software or HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software, but I really do not know.
