dude, just contact the school, ask them what you need to do to get in, what they are looking for in a student etc.

It worked for me, i just got an acceptance letter from Pratt (one of the top visual arts school in the US)

I just found a contact number on the website, called, asked to be put through to dean of admissions, and i just started sooting off questions, whats the best way to apply? What should i include in my portfolio? What will improve my chances?

I will say this getting into a good school is great, but dont take this so seriously you only a sophmore you shouldnt be stressing this much till second semester of Junior year. I was like you wanted to go to Auburn had perfect unweighted GPA of 4.0 and was taaking the hardest classes possible (so 5.0 weighted) I burned out and avoided going to school for two years. Also keep in mind that just becuase the school you go to isnt famous dosnt mean its not good.

well those letters of recommendation are good as well as your pwnage gpa, but some other stuff you could do is

    community service

job- a bank would be imo, the best- shows you are responsible and can handle money. this one helps a lot

another thing you could do is be the head of a club that has something to do with your major. for example, pretend you dig....marine biology. you could make a marine biology club and have discussions about topics and shiz. this helps too

Well I am president of the Huck Fin club, I created the commie club we dont have presidents in the commie club, it goes against what we stand for, (yeah I am a leftist). I think I could get some amazing letters by my teachers, but how much does this help?

What is the Huck Fin club? Also Communist clubs are however not something you want to be letting everyone one know about that some of those people reading your application were brain washed into thinking communism is evil incarnate. Although I do not like communism I understand why some would like and I think most people now a days think the say way the problem with it is an ideal

yeah reminder. If i recall He's in the UK so their scale is different compared to that off the US. I understand what your saying john, most colleges in my area look at your GPA and ACT score. If you have a kinda bad gpa but a good act score you can still get into a good college/university
