I'm going on a trip to a Spanish speaking country in a month so I need help learning Spanish. What is the best way to learn and are there any good programs or anything I can do? By the way right now I only speak English and only know some very basic Spanish words.

    Your gonna have to cram..
1 month.. I've learned ---- in italian after 1.5 years XD..
but no worries, thats different. We dont actually learn in school here so it's good... at least that class.

    Umm.. try..
    books
    tapes
    dictionaries
online translations - tho you should double check some stuff

just learn basic phrases and such first.. greetings, questions of time, place, direction, whatever...

And also, some people are better at things if they repeat themself saying it, or if they write it over and over it gets stuck in their head or something.. Figuring something out like that to see how you learn best might be a good idea also.

Well spanish is so boring but easier for me since my speaking language is portuguese...

I think that a good way to learn is waching movies with spanish subtitles, buying a spanish traveler book (This king of guide that contains some phrases that help u in a trip) or buying a spanish student book...

    The basic is:

    Hola = Hi
Como estás? = How are you?
Onde yo estoy? = Where am I?
Como chego na calle ....? = How do I get to .... streat?
Usted hablas ingles? = Do you speak english?
    Yo quiero .... = I want ...
Estoy perdido! Usted podería me ajudar? = I'm lost! Could you help me

    ...

maybe get some audio recording and memorize them? Lol. But I suggest you get a Spanish dictionary and read it. Like what I did for Jap.

tapes are best as you are able to hear how the words are pronounced instead of reading loads and not saying them correctly

Try Pimsuelar Approach (not sure if i spelled it right) , search it in google, it's the best there is, i am learning German and every single word gets stuck in your head for good

btw if i were you i would learn a different language, spanish is very similliar to english and if you're just looking to learn a new language (incase you dont need it because you're going to a college in spain or something), you should learn a different language.

lol try being an Israeli Arab, a 13 - 15 year old is supposed to be Fluent or sem! fluent in 3 languages, Arabic/Hebrew/English, or else he'll never get to college.
