Wow

Anyone that plays on EU servers on thunderhorn that can give me some good 1 handed swords my mages staff is ---- @ close combat.

Mages do not need swords, stats go over damage for them.

Since they can use wands instead ..

 

sword for a mage = no!! >.< wands are where the dmg is at

 

a good wand will get you more dps then a sword

 

Ya i have a wand and a good staff. but i was just wondering if a sword would be better? and yes mages can use swords. (1 handed) and daggers.

there are spells on your hotbar, use them..

 

You can't duel-wield as a mage.....use a staff....you arn't going to be going melee with a mage, and if you are, you are going to die.

As said before, buy a really good wand.

And if you want to use swords.....roll a warrior or rogue.

Unless you find a dagger that gives you alot of intellect or + to a certain magic, like fire arcane or ice.

 

Generally a sword/dagger and off-hand combo are only used in end-game stuff (due to the fact there arent alot of good sword/dagger and off-hand combos), and staffs are generally what is used to level 50-60.

Sword/dagger and Off-hands are generally higher DPS, and do more damage, but lacks in the overall stats area (namely spirit, which is regen, and stamina, which is life), but staffs generally are quite a bit heavier stats wise, and not quite as high in dps (but not a huge deficit).

I would recommend just using a staff with good stats and a wand that is fire or cold based (varying on which spec you decided to go down and which element you have more +damage in) until 50+ and then switch to a sword/dagger and off-hand combination.
