I'm using a PNY FX 5500. I just had to reinstall Windows because I got a new hard drive. Before I reinstalled windows I could play both Mediblocked Total War 2 and Battlefield 2142 on my computer.

I then reinstalled Windows, and when I start up the games, it goes through the beginning movies, then when it gets to the main game menu, it's one solid color. For MTW2 it's the blue that they use, and for BF2142 it's a grey. I've played both of them enough that I knew where all the buttons were without having to see them, and the game works fine, but all I can see is a solid color.

    I've tried driver versions 66.93, 77.77, 78.01, 81.85, 84.21, 93.71, and 91.81.

They all have the same problem except for 66.93, which I can see everything fine on the menu, but the games always crash within the first 5 minutes of gameplay.

    Any ideas?

try the latest drivers on nvidia...

or if you have the cd that came with it, use that, and see if it works...

sometimes the latest drivers aren't the best drivers.

as for this, don't know what to say really. Fx5500 is pushing it as far as BF2142 goes and as for the other... no clue.

Might be a stupid question, but many people forget to install some drivers when they format/re-install. Did you make sure to install them all?

93.xx is the newest version, and I'd heard that it wasn't the best. I still tried it, but it wasn't working. The thing that gets me is both of those games ran before i reinstalled Windows.

I installed the AGP drivers and and the video card drivers when i reinstalled. I will try the drivers that came with the cd, didn't think of that.

Thanks, and I'll update with what worked, if I find it lol.

Yeah, I've tried reinstalling everything. When I try to use the drivers on my cd that came with my card, it tells me that it can't find an installed graphics driver..

That's the only thing I can think of doing, I'm just trying to avoid that, because I just got it back up and running perfectly.

Oh well, it's worth it if I can't play any games <_<
