I used to my my laptop settings like this, and out of nowehre, somwhere it changed.

When I closed my laptop Lid, the monitor used yo automatically shut off, and when I would open the lid, the moniter would reapear, without going into hibernate or anything..

What I had to do, was go into like display settings, and uncheck 'Enable Hibernate'

Well, now its doing it again, and the moniter wont turn off when I close it, and the 'Hibernate' is disabled, and I dont know how to fix it..

Right now, I just put it at turn moniter off after 5 minutes of inactivity, but I want it to turn off the second you close the lid, how do i fix this??

Ive got a dell inspirion laptop for reference.

Click on Start, then on Control Panel. If your Control Panel is shown in the “Category View,” click first on Performance and Maintenance, then on Power Options. If your Control Panel is in Classic View, simply click on the Power Options icon. Next click on the Power Schemes Tab. Underneath where it says Running on Batteries and across from where it says Turn Off Monitor, choose how quickly you’d like your monitor to shut off when you’re not actively using it. Hope I helped :)

Look on the inside of the laptop, around the edges where the monitor is, usually at the bottom left.. there might be a little bit of plastic about 5mm sticking out, that has to push a button when the lid closes on some laptops, which turns the monitor off.

Check if you can see that or a place where that might have been snapped off.
