I recently registered a steam account, and yesterday i tried to submit one of my cd-keys (an old cs cd-key). I got the message that is is a duplicate one, while i'm sure i never registered any key at all... The game is 5-7 years old. Can anyone advise me what to do?
Someone might have used your cd key without letting you know.. Alot could of happened in 6 years... There is nothing you can do right now.
Like ShotokanTiger said, probably someone used your cd-key. It`s 6 years ago, someone was lucky and got that cd-key from a key generator or other cracked things for steam. Contact steam maybe they will help you.
lol spam. That sucks about the cd key man, hopefully steam can help you but probably they'll say its your problem.
Well its sad. Cause it seems that your CD-key has been generated through some key gen. So take it in your stride bro.
Nope, a key-gen may have got lucky and used his steam key. It happened to me with my opposing force cdkey.
sorry to hear about your CD key man, i think that someone cracked it or got lucky wiht it somehow. id say your only optoin is to contact steam... and no, DONT DOWNLOAD A TORRENT. that would be lame... and plus, why would you donwload a torrent when all you need is the CD Key and then steam updates the games automatically? anywhoo. good luck with that bro..
The same thing happend to my half life key too... ive got an opposing force cdrom somewhere.. i will take a look if that still works..
are you sure you never had them registered before? because if its your half life too then it sounds like they'd be on an account you created... email valve..
steam doesnt, as far as i know, support the old cd-keys. i have an other Half Life 1 : Golden Edition. which brought all of the half life expansions and half life and steam told me that id have to re buy the games.
