It is just polite to say Happy Holidays to people you are unsure of (if they celebrate Christmas or not).

seeing as i'm jewish i guess it's gonna have to be happy holidays haha! i mean, it's not really that big of a deal to me seeing as most everyone celebrates christmas, but some people in my jewish community freak out and protest. i'm all for whats right, but it doesn't seem like a huge deal to me

Ok, time for a little rant and rave. Hope you don't mind. Feel free to --Rep me if you feel like it. Don't think it'll be warranted though for an opinion.

First, let me start off by asking what the hell has our society come to? Just the other day some Rabbi walked into the St. Louis airport and told them he was going to sue if a menorah wasn't put up. Last time I checked, any man of faith, regardless of religion, shouldn't be out to sue. Out of all the different religions I have encountered (minus some extremist groups), they are about one main idea. Peace. Why start a whole bunch of crap over nothing?

Second, out of everyone that has said that saying Merry Christmas offends them, I have one question. Do you receive gifts on Christmas day? If so, you can shut your mouth now, because you are doing the exact same thing that most Americans do. Celebrate a festive day with family and friends.

I believe that the idea of Christmas has become very construed over the last couple of decades. I remember when I was a kid, and the main focus was celebrating the birth of Jesus. Now, I am not saying that I am religious to a point to where I am going to curse people who have brought up ideas that Christmas offends them. As a matter of fact, I don't go to church, I don't pray every night before I go to bed, but I do respect the fact that there might be someone out there who looks down on me and keeps me going from day to day.

With everything going on the world today about being politcally correct, this is just another thing to add to the list. If people can find anything to bitch about, they do it. Here pretty soon, we won't even be able to say "Thank You" for a kind act or "Bless You" when someone sneezes because it is going to offend someone. Lighten up people. It's the time of year to celebrate families and friends. Be thankful for what you have and stop your complaining...

its really not that big of a deal.. excpet the stupid Holiday Tree bs.

the "Holiday Tree" is used for one purpose only: Christmas. It has always been a Christmas tree... and used soley as a Christmas Tree.

umm...either works fine. i don't think anyone will truly be offended if you don't say happy holidays. anyways, it's the thought that counts.
