Did you do a virus scan, spyware etc..?

It's better to do them in Safe Mode imo.

some prgrams are coded ----tily and crash...
some operating systems(like windows) are programmed ----tily and either crash themselves ro crash apps running in them.
some computer hardware is unstable(especially some overclocked hardware) and might make programs and/or OSes crash

solution, press ctrl+alt+del and end it from there...

You're lucky, wish I had that much RAM

You could try to close any un needed program running in the background, or disable any desktop visual enchancers you may have.

2.0 is more than enough to run all of those programs, the problem must be virus/spyware.
I recommend getting Ad-Aware SE Personal, Kaspersky Anti Virus, and Spybot-Search and Destroy.

    Don't just get one...get them all. :)

You should also try Hitman (---) for a total eradication program that includes all the decent adware, spyware, malware removers in one sweep.
