Imho boy scouts isn't going to get make you an oxbridge student. You need to get 90% average in your tests, taking on extra responsibility at high school, as well as doing some extra curricular physical and academic stuff. Those people can turn away the best as they get so many good people applying, contact the university admission tutor via email (nice formal email), as ask about the qualifications they recognise from your country, what sort of grades your going to need from those to be in with a chance. You will need a science-based subject (maths, physics etc), an essay based subject helps and another suitable subject (Don't know how many you have to do in US) email: [email protected] with any quierys you have about Cambridge, how to apply from us, whats needed etc.
How about trying to research Cambridge? There are college books out there, websites, etc. If you have such a high GPA and claim to be really smart, try researching. I'm sure you've done it to get those grades..
You dont think I have. I would just rather get real info from people who actually know. Not books that cost money. I like getting information from people who have personal experience such as Daz helping me out or mystic zeus's brother.
If you are trying to get into Cambridge, which I have heard is very hard to get into, your GPA seems alright. If you can become an ambassador and do some community service. Find things that you can put onto your resume. The longer the list, the more chance you have of being noticed. Keep playing track and football also, especially track since you say you are good. Those books will give you a lot more detail than some people on an internet forum for graphics. If you worried about spending some money on the books, think about the money your gonna spend on going to Cambridge.
I also look for some books but I could not find any after a quick search. I have been very busy so I have not been able to do a in-depth search. I work 2 part-time jobs and I have been saving up since I was very little. All of my money is being saved so I can have a college fund. I doubt I will be able to pay for everything but my parents said they will help me. Money is a minor problem but I am more worried about first getting in then anything else.
Each province is different, Manitoba only requires 21 credits but each class is only worth 1 or .5. I'm currently attending the University of Winnipeg and know for a fact that you don't need a 90% to get in. Most Canadian university's (except possibly McGill) will accept you if you're grades are above 75ish. However the higher your grades / extracurricular involvement will just determine the amount of scholarship money you receive. I only got $1100 but i know people who got 40k+. I could have received more had i gone elsewhere (I believe I got offered around 24k to attend St.Fx) but they didn't have the programs i was looking for and were too far away from home). My grades are far from elite, i believe i graduated with an average of like 86% which is pretty good considering i barely went to class and didn't care. I actually care about univ, mainly because I'm paying for it my GPA is sitting around 4.4 where 4.5 is the highest.
Cause I ask them and they said they werent sure and should go to the universities website. which I already have.

Community service is always good, join all or some of the clubs i've already stated, continue your current sports and maintain your G.P.A. if not raise it. Get between 3-5 recommendations from your teachers. The rest is just essays and applying. Make sure that your essays/letters are formal...standard business format or PBL(personal business letter). Try to use impressive words, but do not over emphasize your vocabulary. After writing your essays, it is a good idea to use the thesaurus to replace some of the more common words. When you feel that your essay is complete, give it to your parents to look over and see if they have any suggestions. Then go to your english teacher and ask her/him for suggestions and revisions. Make the necessary revisions and send in the essay(s) along with your application and resume.
Man, after reading that I feel really dumb, lol. When I graduate I am either going to a Community College or the Army (not kidding).
Also when writing your essay, try to make it as personal as possible. At a university like Cambridge there are many other people that are appying that have just as good - if not better - grades than you do. you have to have something that will seperate you from the rest of the group, something that makes you unique. Most of these really good colleges in the US do not even look for the students who are perfect and look at students who have overcome something in their life. I am not sure about universities in the UK though.
Its about both grades and personality at cambridge, you have to both get top grades, and a very good personal statement helps alot. Listing why you have choosen the course, what extra sports/clubs you are part of. If I can find my one I will send you the link. Daz
