As a gun owner myself I say F### gun control. If there woried about crime look at it this way: the bad guys will always have guns, if normal people dont they cant defend themselvs against the bad guys.

The main reason for gun control is so the poeple cant say no to the government if the government decides to screw us(which they already are).

No to mention gun control violates one of the ammendments and a part of the bill of rights.

People dont have to own a gun if THAT PERSON dosnt want to but they have no right to remove that privallage from anyone else.

Every one should be able to own a gun if they lock it in a gun case thats fine. But they should also teatch there kids about guns too, for example: Above I metioned Iam a gun owner, I am 15 years old(I paid for it but for leagal reasons my dad bought it.) I have a little brother who is 6 years old I leave my gun in a unlocked case on my book self in his reach, you can call me irrisposible if you like but my little brother has been taught and been around guns since he was two he knows how to handle (what to and not to point at.) it and to only toutch it if he is told.

What kills more kids yearly than guns???....................... heres a hint its a toys most kids have one, its got two wheels and you pedal it.

    EDIT
    Quote from .Shaun
"Now I don't know statistic on this, but how many cases are there of people being saved from an invader by a firearm compared to the amount used in gang violence. "

I dont know the name I think its call American handgunner they have a new issue every month and on the first page of every issue so far(some 50-100) there is a three page listing of people who are alive because they had a gun.

    QUOTE Astrostar

"I personally think guns are too dangerous to be in the hands of human beings fueled by irrational thought sometimes."

As many other people posted you need to pass a background check(you have to even now) and a responsible owner will not wll not allow anger to over come them. when my parents ground me yeah Im a little pissed but I dont grab my .357 and shoot them. For any standard citizen we do have a little thing called "consequence of action" and "Common sence".

people should be allowed to own guns.... if they own a gun though i think they should know how to use it so they dont go like accidentally kill themselves or something.

Its easy to say that now. Once something happens to you, you'll wish you were packin heat. If you know how to use it, and when to use it it certainly can prove to be only beneficial.

Why is hunting a waste? Hunters keep the animal populations in check. without hunting, certain animal populations would be so that there would be so many in certain areas, that there would not be suitable food to support the number of animals and they starve to death. You also allow the younger generation to breed and keep the gene pool going. You dont go out and shoot the younger animals, you look for the older and more mature animals to take. What happens to say an adult deer when they get older? They loose their teeth and eventually die from starvation from not being able to eat their normal diet, they cant chew so they starve. Hunters prevent alot of this from happening.

Being a hunter myself, I only shoot what I plan to eat. And I am teaching the younger generation the same values, and hope that they will continue the responsible and ethical values going to the next generation.

Thats all good but majority of hunters will shoot whatever just for sport.

Im not really an animal protectionist, to be honest I dont really give a crap. Just sayin though...

I don't know of a single hunter where I live that doesn't eat what he/she kills. Myself included.

As much i disagree with hunting (i think its gross and disgusting), the majority of hunters do eat what they kill. There really aren't that many trophy's out there, I think bears are the only thing that is not used for it's meat. The majority of the game here consists of: Deer / Wild Birds / Geese / Elk / Moose all of which can be eaten.

I think people should own guns....but only if they ar e responsible and havea license..but making it legal for every head of a house hold to own a gun is stupid...its most likely to boost thier crime rate

outlawing guns will not stop violence. either the criminals will smuggle thier guns, or they will use other means to do what they want. example 1: england. sure shootings are down due to strict gun control, but street crime is where it used to be. you're just probably going to be stabbed rather than shot.

example 2: ivory coast. a coupla years ago, they nearly completely outlawed guns. guess what? now they have drive by crossbowings. and no, im not making this up.

am i in favor of gun control? no
am i in favor of required gun licences? yes. but outlawing firearms all together? heck no

I think this is only allowed in America mostly, it should not be allowed. The guns are used to do a lot of bad things and are used for other things, beside protection. England have made sure even if fake guns are seen you can get in trouble. Looking at the gun figures from England to the USA it shows, maybe guns should be banned in the United States as well. It is all up to USA though, if they want them they can continue to use them!
