Hey guys, my parents went to pretty ----ty colleges, and dont know much information to help me. My counselors at school are a bunch of idiots. So I decided to get some get info from people who I know are smart; the member at GR! Anyway I would like to go to Cambridge University in England. I know it is a very hard school to get in. But I was wondering if you anyone could give me some tips onto getting into a good school. I currently have a GPA of 4.5 as a 10th grader. And next year I will hopefully get a 4.7 with a additional AP class. So by the end of my 11th grade year I should have a 4.6 Average GPA College weighted (no honors classes). I have not taken my SAT's yet but I think I will do quite well on them but I don’t know. I play Football and Track & Field (I am actually quite good in both and I have gotten quite a few letters from some good divison 1 schools for track anf field) as well as I am captain of my Academic League team at my school and a member of Academic Decathlon at my school. I am also a member of the Huck-Fin club and model UN. And some other clubs. I don’t know how much this matters to schools like Cambridge. Please don’t flame me or anything for posting this I just want to get some information. Thanks for anyone who helps me.

4.6 HPA, not GPA, right? I thought 4.0 was the hightest GPA.

I am not sure what HPA is but when you take AP classes you recieve a extra point so instead of 4 points you recieve 5 points. This is recgonzed by most colleges but not all.

I changed the title. I dont know what country you are in but in the US there is little difference between a college and a university

    highest GPA exceeds 5 points
    SAT? live in Western U.S?
please refrain from saying "10th grader"
get your teachers to do a few recommendation letters, write a few essays for scholarship programs, apply for govt. grants, see if your parents job offers any kind of programs. Just fill out the forms, pay the fee (if any) and mail/send it to the school along with your transcripts and ACT/SAT scores on it. Pretty simple eh?

Oh, in Florida we have both GPA and HPA (Honors Point Average). With GPA, all classes are counted equal, and with HPA you get extra points for Honors and AP.

I'm not even in high school yet but I think you need to score high on your SAT's to get into college.
