Here are my opinions: Wii --------------------- Get it? Yes. Why? A great system, with good games, and finally an excuse to tell mom "But, I am exercising!" Can also play old GameCube games, and older games from the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and TurboGraphix-16 are available through an online points system. You can also browse the web through a bought Opera browser through the Wii Marketplace. Price? A cheap $250, but the points for the Virtual Console and/or Marketplace can be pretty costly. Xbox 360 --------------------- Get it? Yes. Why? Another great system with cutting edge graphics, and and awesome library of games. Can also play older Xbox games and play others through Xbox Live, a monthly subscription and online play community run through Microsoft. Price? Dont buy the core system! Buy the fully stocked system, the premium, for $400 dollars. PS3 ------------------- Buy it? NO!!! Why? 1) out of stock. 2) only 300,000 have been sold, due to it's cost of $600 dollars, for the 60 gig HD, but even the 20 gig costs 500$, which to me is a total rip off. The graphics will put a burn in on your TV, and even if it says "High powered graphics on an awesome TV", if you have a crappy old TV, you'll basically have a PS2. Final Words? Buy the Wii or 360. You'll be pleased with either.
My friend launch day bought 2 Wiis, 1 for e-bay and 1 for himself. ANother 1 of my friends tried the Wii and said its cool but most of the time it dosn't pic up your movments. So your sitting there looking like a idiot, screaming (COME ON!!)at the tv for a bout 5 min, and just about the exact time before your about to die , like .0001 sec left, you die.
My friend and I have one, and he gets to play his now (I have to wait until Christmas). IT OWNS. I love it, and once SSBB comes out (Super Smash Bros. Brawl) its going to hit online craze and be totally kickass.
NO! Do not by a wii at the current time. They are being sued of copyright infringement over the pointing functionalities of the Wiimote. If it goes through they are taking wii off the market and guess what? No more games either.
I think the Wii has got the best response from gamers out of the 3 next gen consoles. So, definitely buy the Wii. I would if I had the money.
I think everyone who loves games should get Wii NOW! Yes ps3 and xbox360 is cool but not compared to Wii. Lets see. What is the difference between ps3 and ps2? Only the graphics, the sound and the games... its the same for xbox 360. Then lets look at the difference between GameCube and Wii: The graphics, the sound, the games, the price and the controlers! I am so much getting Wii!!
i'm glad your choosing to get the Wii -Be aware though that there have been problems with the strap on the Wiimote breaking and the 'mote flying into people's TVs (and breaking them). Just be careful
Arcade? Wii has an Arcade? I thought all they had was Virtual Console. Besides, where else would you buy your past N64/Turbo/Sega/GC/NES/SNES games, at a store where they charge tax, or a marketplace where you can access the internet and buy it right at home, and play it straight away. Get the Wii! It's sexier than the Xbox 360, which doesn't even look like an "Xbox" anymore..
