my bike just got stolen... so i'm getting a new one and i can't decide between mountain bikes or road bikes. so im just using this to get aorund, prolly no more than maybe 10 miiles each trip... mostly on the road.or dirt or w/e not really any ruff terrain.
so basically which do you guys think is more fun?
    which is more affordable?

    thanks
oh and any specific reccomendations on like specific models of bikes
    is appreciated too thankss

Well - I have a road bike which are good for road riding because of less friction with the tyres - which is a plus...
The downside of roadbikes is that you can't bush-bash and the tyres are forever puncturing - so always be prepared lol :)

Mountain bikes are obviously good anywhere but can be tough work on roads due to the thick tread which slows you down considerably...

    That's my 2 cents :D

P.S My roadbike is a TREK which cost $1500 AU

i've got a mountain bike AND a road bike.

    it makes my life easier.

    no seriously though
i would go for the mountain bike.
sure it has some more friction. but imo its a lot more fun if you can go a bit offroad to get faster somewhere hehe.

Mountain bike for sure. Road bikes cant take the slightest dirt, they are strictly for road. And if you are alking about prices mountain bikes are also way better there. Road bikes are overall expensive as hell with their carbon fiber frames and what not. Id say go with a mountain bike, if you dont really jump off of anything you can get a cheap mountain bike that will last you along time.
