My question is which is better Kaspersky or Macfee. My dad got macfee through our internet provider and i think its a piece of crap. i constantly get one type of spyware in particular this Macfee.Security.Disable. Another thing when ever i do a virus scan it never picks up anything. So what should i do stick with Macfee or dump it and go with Kaspersky?

Id rather trust Avast, Nod32, or AVG, in that order...

I dont use a firewall, and ive been fine lately.

I think firewalls are over-rated... Get a firewall, it will protect you against hackers and files from getting data from the net, and stealing your identity.

BS bleh, hackers can get around firewalls pretty damn easilly

anything thats private, I keep it as far away from my computer as possible. I don't go to pron sites and sites that load you with spyware and viruses.

I have used NOD32 / Avast / AVG / Kaspersky and prefer NOD32 but they all did their job. They are all an improvement over Norton or Mcafee

    Kaspersky.

I've tried NOD32, ZoneAlarm, Kasperky and Avast. All are good.

I might just try Kaspersky, and the thing is i admit i go to pron sites. Would it be possible to use Kaspersky as my anti-virus and then Zone Alarm as my Firewall or shouldd i go a different route?

alright im almost ready to change software, i just got BitDefender as i saw it was rated #1 best anti-virus software. Also for the reason that im a noob with anti-virus programs. One thing im worried about is if i unistall McAfee, will the pc be better off with the new program or up the creek without a paddle. I'm just worried that i might do something wrong.

na i'd say uninstall it, the same day i got my computer i uninstalled it due to frustration, plus nod32, avast, avg barely use any resources so you you won't have to worry about your computer crashing when you use real time protection (scanning can/will lag your computer a bit, does to me) also mcafee picks up everything as viruses ¬_¬
