Hey I'm looking for a nice motherboard for a PC my parents want me to build for them. I can spend approx. $100 on the MB to stay within budget. Overclockability isn't a concern as I'll most likely just keep everything at stock settings. I just want a nice solid MB with a BIOS that doesn't need 35890 page manual to figure out, and that won't give me problems setting up. Ahah, I'm so good those were my top 3 too! I looked at the ECS closely and read some of the reviews to find that many people had problems getting their other hardware to work with this board, especially 800MHz RAM showing up lower and not changeable in BIOS. And for the Gigabyte I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, only picked it out 'cause of the brand name. Thanks for the suggestions.
Get the Biostar TForce. Quality board, good OCing possibility, just lacks some of the extra features the $150 boards have.
Are you sure that board is intel compatible? I searched "biostar tforce" on NewEgg and found only two AMD compatible boards.
well, john did it again... he tells you how great it is, then its not compatable on your mobo or cpu...
actually it is compatable. Tforce is a series of boards made by BIOStar, sort of liek how infinity and lanparty are series made by DFI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813138037 in full honesty though, dont' spend so much on a board which will never be OCed and won't have much load on it. I doubt you'll need elaborate RAID setups, nor will you need eSATA insane onboard sound, or a ton of advanced memory options. This system is going to eb just a general use workhorse which will probably be browsing the net, doing some stuff in excell, photoshop, autocad or similar right? let me find an OK cheap board...
If you would like to find me one that's cheaper but still compatible with the listed as well as stable, I'd appreciate it. And you're correct in saying that it is general use - C2D E6300, 1GB RAM, 7600GT GPU 250GB HDD to surf web, store pictures, music, and video with minimal editing of those three. I just said ~$80-120 because that's what I'm willing to spend to stay in budget. Cheaper is always nice though.
for those uses you could get by with integrated graphics. i'll look into everything tomorrow after school
I'd say get the Gigabyte S3 or tForce, you choiche. They'r both good. I've got nothing to complain about my DS4, which is actually a sort of 'better' then DS3 and 'lower' then DQ6. Anyway just make sure the ram will be compatible. The last thing you'd want is that the ram isn't be compatible. (even after flashing bios)

Has onboard video so no need for a GFX card and it supports memory on the DDR2-667 divider(which means it would go down to the DDR2-667 SPD settings so you won't really loose any performance) and no higher. in short it's great for an office/workhorse system. if you want a board you can potentially tweek and might eb a bit better for the likes of gaming - Biostar Tforce 965P

Do you already have those parts you mentioned above (like the 7600GT), or were you planning on getting that..?
Was planning but xelink convinced me I don't really need that good of a GPU so I'm looking for another.
