http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyvrqcxNIFs Unbelievable. The reason for tazering this person 3 times was all because he didn't have an ID. This kid was outright being an idiot yes, but I don't think they should have broken out the tazers for THIS. They could have just handcuffed him. Also they keep tazering him, and expect him to be able to get up <_< It is kind of weird though, he has plenty of energy to scream about "Gorge Bush"'s patriot act... still, I say abuse of tazers... tazers can kill people and damage their nervous system as well. Still, this was overboard. There was no need to do that. Handcuff the guy instead.
Some news articles on this: http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38958 http://newsroom.ucla.edu/page.asp?RelNum=7513 http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/c...s-pe-california it's quite old... This is another one of those issues that goes both ways. Yeah, that guy was an idiot. A good point is the fact that it's sad that the Police had to disrupt the peace so much and take 10+ minutes to extract one guy from a library WITH a taser. To me, the taser/grabbing seemed kind of dumb. Did they try coming in and just asking him to leave first? And what's with the "If you don't do X you'll get tasered?" The taser was mainly to stop someone from being violent. The police should have threatened with arrest and arrested the guy with cuffs and removed him. If he got violent before/after the cuffs, then I would have tasered him. The other stupid thing was this "If you don't go over there, you'll get tasered too." Those officers obviously don't know how to handle a large crowd because that could have become dangerous for them with that type of talk. A lot of the other kids were idiots too. Acting like they have some type of authority. This is probably common amongst young kids just joining the adult world. They shouldn't have swarmed the scene like a bunch of little kids chasing after the ice cream truck.
i saw it some time ago. a week at least i think. its sick, thought that student should've left sooner the police had no real reason to tase im fcking 5 imes
What pisses me off is that no one did sh*t, they should've swarmed the cops beat the crap out of em and tazered them five times...unfortunatly the justice system is slanted so that the people who stood up would have been arrested. Good thing we have camera phones, I hope those cops get stripped of thier badges permanently and spend 6 months in prison I'm just gonna make a mental note not to go to ucla <_<
yea the camera man should have grown some balls and move closer.. but well. you dont have your sound on ? you hear him screaming and shouting
Wow.I heard about this. The guy sure was screaming. He didn't have no respect for the police though. "Co orperate or get tazed"
yea but the cops threatened to tazer the people who asked for there badge number and if anybody came to close they would tazer them too. So goes to show there is some abuse there.
no offense her but i think a topic on a guy being tazered by the police isnt the worst thing weve got here. go check the news a unarmed black guy was shot because they thought he was going to take out a gun. yet um there were 50 shots fired at him and he wasnt even moving. 1 cop alone fired 31 shots and even had to reload twice in doing so. yet when he was first asked at the seen how many shots he fired he said.. "im not sure if i fired any" . yea lol we got some seriously cop trouble now adays
omg if i saw that id ru in there and freakin attack the cops.... freakin stupid a**es that pisses me off just watching it....
Combination of campus security with nothing to do and a somewhat non-compliant subject. Not a good mix, but even pepper spray or brute force would've been better. Three rounds can do a bit of nerve damage. Though, he should've still been able to get up, as they don't incapacitate you for more than five seconds with the charges that the police use. They were right to tase him, but just barely. They took their little police use-of-force booklets too literally; while they can use them if a subject is non-compliant, any officer with a bit of common sense would've done otherwise. Oh, and that could get you legally shot. Shot as in with a few 9mm holes in your chest. Just saying...
