About 16 months ago I quit Starcraft. I somehow lost my disc in that 16 months so about a month ago I went and bought the Starcraft Battlechest. Now I've been playing for about a month now and just yesterday it started getting all screwy. Now I am not an idiot when it comes to computers, I have tried quite a bit to get it working. Anyways the problem is, I started it up, and it minimizes. OooOh big problem eh? Well when I try to get back in it just flashes on the black screen in which full screen games and your desktop are bridged by, and then flips back to desktop. My best result has come with closing all my apps but Starcraft and then repeatedly alt+tabbing until it stay in long enough for me to press a few buttons and type a bit. Then twice out of about two thousand times, it has stayed in Starcraft and I have been able to play, but if I minimize it, I am screwed. If anyone can help me with this problem I will pay them 200 credits.

    Thank you,

    Papermache

hmm, are you far into it that you dont wannt to lose your game data? I'm not sure where Starcraft keeps that data, but I think reinstalling it is the only option...

already tried that, didn't work. I play online so data loss is not a problem.

Totally delete the starcraft folder, and make sure it's completely uninstalled. I had this problem when I used to play and uninstalling worked for me.

Also, I had this problem with not only Starcraft, but a couple other games as well... I ended up having to get a program called Indeo XP to solve my problems. Now I haven't had a problem since...

It downloaded the patches, and I have checked for spy and adware. I have uninstalled it completely and reinstalled twice now. I have set its priority higher which seems to work for a minute or two, then it resets its priority. I have used a window mod on SC to get it out of fullscreen and I have system restored to 3 days ago when this wasn't a problem.

Make sure that you have no windows blinds or interface enhancement running in the background,

I didn't do anything. I am sure noone else did anything to because I got off the computer at 4am, with my account running 4 programs. Got back on at 11am with my account running 4 programs. Noone knows my password, and noone else logs off on my computer, so if someone had come on it would be logged on.
