more or less go with what john said.

1GB is plety for general use but if you're gaming or doing heavy multitasking, or doing both at the same time, you'll appreciate the extra RAM.

can't say anything bad about the 7600GS, decent bang/$ card
plays most older games maxed(HL2 doomIII) and gives very acceptabel performance in the more demanding ones like FEAR.

That would probably be fine. You wouldn't see the greatest preformance, but it would do the job.

Id Have to say for graphics the Nvidia 7600 GS nice smooth graphics ive had one for about 3 months and it has never ceased to amaze me there is only one down-side to these type of cards, you need one more cable inside you pc for power supply and besure to get extra fans just to be on the safeside of things, I'm Running,(well not going into specifics) AMD (2.8GHZ), 2GB Ram, 500GB HD, Gigabyte Motherboard(AGP Support), Nvidia 7600 GS, 4 DVDRWs and I have 4 fans in my computer including my built in one talk about loud!

well, a few 120mm fans will help that drastically. the push alot of air, and they are about just as loud as regular 85mm

i find 120mm fans to push more air more quietly than 92mm fans...

    ehh must be me...

if you're running stock volts at 2.8GHz it shouldn't be too bad.
what are your temps, my dual core opteron loaded at 44C 2.6GHz w/ 1.264V stock cooler

small whiney high RPM fans though...

also a 7600GS is a cool running card, don't worry too much about ehat from it, it produces like 1/5th as much as say a 7900GTO

also, IMO it is worth spending 15$ more for the 7600GT over the GS, around a 50% performance increase you know... MUCH higher core speed and lower latency memory ICs.

also, if you want a cheepo kit...

then just set it to the same frequency but 3-3-3-X insteed... or leave on auto to the SPD settings...

that set should work fine, only thing to note is that when you first startup your system you'll want to manually adjust the voltage form 1.8V to 2.1 so that the RAM is stable and doesn't start giving errors during the windows installation.

you're just saying that because you're building an effectively identical system...
