There is alot of controversy about Christian Metal and just Metal Music period. And everyone is entitled to their opinions and truthfully I would like to hear them becuase i'm extremely bored right now. My opinion is that Christian Metal punks out all other "Metal" bands out there. So if you guys wanna list some bands and leave your thoughts, I will match or beat it with a harder Christian Metal band....or if I cant, well....we will see if that happens. ;) :D

I like the concept of christian metal, but there are a lot of other good metal bands who are very tallented just not christian.

good examples of christian metal include early living sacrifice(later they took ona more hardcore-like style) and early zao

    Not A Big Metal Fan.
But I Do Find It Hard Not To Laugh When I Think Screaming and Guitar Solos For Jesus.

    Haha.

When I Do Listen To More Screamy Stuff, It's Stuff Like:
    Love Lost But Not Forgotten
    Saetia
    An Albatross
    Daughters
    Pig Destroyer

Never Got Into The Whole Metal For God Thing Though.

There is no point in labeling people as Christian or not. Usually when they are called that, the members are Christian and they do not curse. That is usually it.

It all depends on the skill of the band to be good, not the label ;).

Just food for thought. + As I Lay Dying = Amazing Christian band.

Ok, this is mho on christian bands. There is no such thing as a christian band or christian music. Music and bands cant be chrisian, even though i call it christian music as well just as a lable. There are only christian people in a band and that is what makes up whether the band is christian or not.

I think there is no problem with worshiping God through metal and such, even though it is kinda odd to think so.

So doesnt matter about the lable but the quality of the music which makes it fun to listen too.

About what Visperac said; most people do find it funny that people actually scream and yell and have an awsome time on stage and they do it all for Christ. But it is what it is...

And on what Skyline said: That is true. Alot of bands have Christian members and arent labeled or even dont want to be labeled as Christian bands. They usually do that for the record sales though....

And Swifty; Yeah I can see where your coming from and I do agree with you some. But some bands are labeled christian and you can tell by their lyrics. They are actually worshiping in their own way through their music. Its pretty awsome. Read some lyrics from Within if you want to. They're lyrics are very easy to understand if you listen to enough of "Christian" Metal. Also go check out (OLD) Underoath and Demon Hunter. They all have worship-like lyrics.

I think that when people say that they can't imagine people being a "christian" metal band, they just haven't seen it in both non-christian and christian perspectives. MOST people think Metal as in "I HATE MY MOM, SCREW LIFE, I LIKE KILLING PEOPLE" they just haven't heard the other side, which is christian. They haven't heard the lyrics of the christian metal either. It also depends on what kind of person you are. BTW, Saint, the bands you listen to are very good bands =)

Its great to listen to christian music and everything, but its just a smaller group so you get less variety IMO. Metal > Christian Metal.

christian bands are a joke if you ask me - it's just retarded... wtf is the point?

Zao is the only one that was decent I guess... I like the band, forget the singer exactly.

If it's screamo-metal and you can't understand it, then why would it matter if it is christian or not? As long as it sounds good...

a lot of Christian metal is oriented around the horrors of hell.

immagine death metal witha Christian influence. It's actually not bad.

depends on your taste though. I like the sound and flow of metal and I'm also a Christian.

Well the thought of christian metal is to attract a different type of Christians I think. I am a huge christian but I cant stand praise and worship type music. Its just not me. And me being the guy I am, I can understand every word they are saying. I listen to the lyrics and understand them all. And only some of them are based on the Horrors of Hell actually, very few are. Others talk about how powerful God is. And ScopeJester, In my opinion, other metal bands are a waste of talent. The message in them arent worth listening to. They have absolutely no point to them...and I can name ONE christian metal band that owns pantera and slayer....Living Sacrifice. Owns all over them. Listen to them, the message is clear and worth listening to.
