Well ok, I decided to take my PSU out of my computer today and install my new PUMA PSU, so im installing it all odne right I boot the computer up and it goes on smoothly but whats it gets to windows startup screen itfoes to the dreaded blue sceen for a split second and restarts. I even took the other PSU and put it back in and it still does it... I took my video card out to make sure it wasnt a power problem and my other pci cards. Any idea on what the problem is?
Try it in safe mode. If it works right click on my computer and go to properties. Then click advanced tab. Click the settings for startup and recovery then uncheck the box that says "automatically restart". Now post what the screen says.
You neeed to change the boot settings.. Try going into the bios and setting the CDROM or DVDROM befor the harddrive.
Except that it boots up and gets to the windows BSOD. If any of the components was damaged in the swap his comp would fail POST and not even attempt to boot windows.
he could have knocked a capacitor or something which would have reduced stability a bit... if you overclock, you'll know that just becaus eyour computer boots doesn't mean its stable.
when you say you cant boot form the Xp disc, what do you mean? you dont get the option to? or when you do nothing happens? If you're not getting the chance to change your boot order through the bios.
