at most websites, videos just dont work

one that is particularly annoying is at gamespot.com

    none of the videos work!
it says `ready` but nothing happens

i also have the latest version of windows media player and i tried watching videos on both Netscape and Firefox browsers.

can somebody help me please? :(

Yep GS huh? same with me but its your PC then. I cleaned it out because of a "virus" you might have that most likely because first it doesn't play movies and then it might get worse. sooner or later i couldn't open some windows on the web page. so i rebooted clean and after worked fine

I do not know of any virus that stops you from watching videos...

but in all cases, it could be..
