Damn, I thought you were gonna make a pun on the manufacturer's name "Abit"

    Guess not :(

Yeah, more information is needed, if its a factory prebuilt, it probably wasnt at 3.80 Ghz.

knowing XP, it likes to round things off quite alot. for instance, I know my Socket A PC has 1gb ram, but windows calls it 9,989mb...

Actually it is 989. What you see has a gig (1000) a comuter sees a gig as (1024) so when you put a gig (1000) the computer should see about 990 MB. Depending on how much the manufacturer actually put.

Just boot into the BIOS and see what it sees your processor at.

Blinkz, Windows "System Properties" is wierd and not very accurate, like on my mom lappy, it say here processor is 888Mhz, when it really 2Ghz lol.

Anyways, to get a more accurate speed, with going into BIOS, download this program, CPU-Z , unzip it, then run the cpuz.exe file.

Then in the 1st tab (CPU), look down and you should see "Core Speed", that will tell you what speed your cpu is running at, and lots of other info :)

    Hope this helps, phantomgrave

No man, a gig is actually 1024 not 1000, unless I misunderstood you

    it is 1024...

    1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024

Windows is in no way accurate. Simply put, nothing is, because it can go faster or slower 100 times a second, Windows and other programs takes the average number.

    same with downloads.
