k, I need a fan controller, my fans get quite loud when they dont need to be at full speed...

    currently I have:

    CoolerMaster Stacker

    2 x 120mm

one for exhaust from the top back
second for intake to cool hard drives

    1 x 32mm on top (exhaust)

    plus a stock AM2 fan.

my three case fans have molex connectors, so if the controller has adapters for those, or i can buy it seperately, thatd be great...

    Budget: ~20-30 usd

if you're cheep like me, you'll just connect the fans to your motherboard and controll them through BIOS or through software.

it has its downsides though, one of my fans is so hefty that it needs more juice to start from the board than the board delivers so i have to leave it connected to the main power.

my recomendation is a crazy one, one which i will be following myself...

set most fo your out take fasn to relative silence, then buy a fan like the silverstone FM121 for intake. The FM121 has an adjustabel dial all for itself and can either push a TON of air(100CFM @ 40db approx) or be virtrually silent(17DB)

if you absolutely have to, you could get a 5.25 to 3.5 adapter thingy...

    or make one yourself...

all you have to do to switch to 5V is switch two wires, it is hardly anything at all.

I however determined that it doesn't matter, the one fan which i don't have set on my motherboard is set to the PSU straight as it doesn't start at lower than 12V.
