What am looking for is pretty simple , all i need is a program that allows me to take parts of a video on a dvd inserted into my pc and put them in the timeline.

Mose DVDs are protected, but you could try to record the DVD using a screen recorder, although you will lose quality.

Adobe Premiere --- or Adobe Premiere Elements will let you do that. if your burning a DVD and it needs to convert the file type it will take alot longer to o so, but afte its converted nd your making multiple copies it goes faster.

Its kind of pricy and only one has a free trial and htey are not hte most user friendly but what you can do is look around for other programs that ould be more user friendly

Windows Movie Maker :) if you just want to put them into a time line with basic effects (optional) then WMM is easy :) as its already installed you could start straight away lol
