we have 1700 we want 25% off it would be 1275 correct me if im wrong.

I got that: 1700*.25=425 1700-425=1275 that is right isnt it? All he does is the first step and says that 425 is 25% of 1700 who is right? And explain here if you can because its hard explaining to a retard(No offense to anyone here) also thanks...

Ummm...you're both right, the end result is the same.

 

IF u are figuring out 25% of 1700 it is 425. If you are taking away 25% from 1700 the it is 1275. Hope that helps.

25% of 1700 is 425, 75% of 1700 is 1275...

 

25% off is 25% less than 100%

1700*.75=1275 with the 25% difference being $425
