    i can see why they do it,

    but what is a lit candle actually going to do for a child?

    I have never understood those things...

    I lit one a while ago, and I do believe its a good cause, and I am against it, but still, what is the true point? 1,000,000 people online casting votes isn't going to change a thing. The US alone is 300x that size, and the world is over 6000x that size. Its for a good cause, but do you think the people who have casted their signature, or candle in this, have ever stepped back and thought about the likelihood that a petition like this will get anything changed? Maybe brought up to the governments attention, but how much action do you think is going to happen for a million candles (or 1,200,000, which is where they are at now) out of the 6 billion+ people in the world? And don't use the excuse that this is only to fight US online child abuse, as the US is rarely the case for online child abuse.

    Nothing against the idea, I just see it as being fairly pointless.
