A great place to buy laptops is at www.dell.com. I brought my laptop from there and they are brilliant. The prices are quite good and the level of support is fantastic. It is really for general use.

If you want to buy a laptop for art programs, music, internet and not really general use then I think you would be better off with a Apple Mac computer. They are just write if you want to use it for programs. Maybe your own Graphics laptop etc.

Otherwise I would go for windows and buy from Dell. Good luck choosing your laptop :P.

Apple notebooks had a similar problem. In fact all laptops that used Sony batteries did so it wasn't even Dell's fault.

but the rate of occurence was apparently a lot higher on Dells. consider that all other manufacturers combined didn't have as many issues as Dell.

Dell's are streamlined for low production costs and if you need to cut out some overvoltage protection and power regulation features, they'll do it.

i reccomedn hte Acer Ferrarri 4000 or 5000 series. they are a litle pricy but its what i sue and they work well. when you buya laptop the price is what you get. dells tend to suck for upgrading. if you want to do art syuff you need a simmilar PC to a Gamer which is a good video card and a nice chunk of RAM.
