It was an old template made and sold via permission from the origional DA author for web design practice (mine). I corrently no longer own this template and it belongs to Andrew (if you wanna see .psds I mean). And although it may not be 'ripped' it is EXTREMELY heavily inspired and should have asked atleast myself (where it is a public download on iGO) or the DA artist if he could recreate it with his own name on it, especially when they are so similar.

 

I see similar designs, but do not see any ripping.

Care to elaborate on where you think the ripping is?

 

From my first post. Its more of a 'rip' from the DA version than from mine.

The size, the shapes, the overall width in % from the DA to his are almost all relative to how much larger he made his than the DA one.

In reality its far more of a DA rip than it is my rip (as with permission from the author I agreed to remove parts and add my own, just use the general design).

 

No way in the whole world can that be a rip there is nothing the same. Maybe he copied it but i can't see anything.

 

I havn't got the .pSD to to see if it's ripp but things look very very simular...

 

Copying a design without giving permission to the artist is the same as layer ripping. Its claiming another artist's design as your own, even if you made it, the origional design (especially if it was posted on DA) are copyrighted and belong to the artist. Read, as I have said twice, and now 3 times, it isn't a direct 'rip' its EXTREMELY heavily inspired by the DA version (not my version).

They are very similar in concept and design, though not exact. If he claims it to be an original idea, he is lying. To make one that similar to someone elses and to have never seen it is highly unlikely, not impossible, but unlikely.

I think it may as Dem said "it isn't a direct 'rip' its EXTREMELY heavily inspired by the DA version".

Which is a lie, they are to exact to be just an idea in his head, and unless he asked permission, it's still some sort of rip?

He's actually sold this aswell by the way.

He sold in auction for 300 credits to [AG] .FX i believe.

 

His other one Hydro.

Dem also said he thought he'd seen it, now found the DA link.

 

Looks as if he is unoriginal and claiming to be. I have a thread in staff asking for other opinions on this case.
