Its common knowledge that the Xbox and Playstation are always buggy upon release by now, whereas I have yet to see Nintendo have issues. Also, there is going to be a major price drop by christmas next year which will pump profits for the PS3. edit: Oh, and the Gamecube also outsold the PS2 and Xbox 360 in Japan, but overall sales on the PS2 were higher than the Xbox and Gamecube combined across the world, so that is saying something...

They took an equal % loss on the PS2, and the price almost halved in a year lol Given the same % of $300 is far less than $600, but still, people can wait I cancelled my pre-order on mine for that reason myself. I wanna see what kind of games are released for it, as I know FF is going to be multi-console now, so I may actually break down and buy a 360 despite my better judgement (after selling the old one I had gotten for free from a contest).
