I would wait till they release more fixes and patches before I buy it. Till then it will be worth it, Windows XP still works fine for me.

I'm going to wait a few months, mainly so I can see what peoples reaction is and how flawed it is, and secondly so I have a computer that can do all the visual effects justice, plus its going to need lots of ram.

the people who are getting vista woudl fall under the category of idiots.

    What makes it better?
answer - nothing at this time

How many programs and how much hardware doesn't work/work properly?

give it 6 months through a year

I'll stick to XP and 2003.

and vista ultimate if purchases legitimately is a ripoff, jest get home premium.(Home basic is apparently crap)

    also this goes into computing.

CorruptCop, I'm going out on a lim here, but can i guess that you have an illegal version of XP, because if I'm not mistaken, anyone with SP1 who has a legal version can get SP2.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking either you had not updated yet, or you have an illegal version.

Give me a minute and ill find the thing on Microsoft that lets you upgrade.

It's way overpriced...but if you want to get it legitimately don't get it until mid 2007. It's released Jan 07, but it'll take six months for it to be a better product via patching and hacking attempts.

Not to mention it gives mods time to extract the dumb crap not needed but included by MS.

Yes, that is what I have gotten. But you do not get it "free" you still have to pay. Although the price is reduced extremely, and you will get your Vista shipped out at the end of this month.
