ok at this point in time there is no doubt in my mind that the PS3 is better then the X-Box 360 and the Nintindo Wii reasons being are a few things. Graphics being the most notable, next being compatibility with HD TVs, 360 makes you pay for online gameplay while the PS3 does not...now for the big part PRICE, Sony has announced the launch price of 2 different PS3s the first will have a 20GB hard drive and will not be compatable with HD TV functions...not a big deal for the average gamer this will cost $499.00 as for the better piece of equipment it will be $599 but will do what the cheaper version cannot...it will have a 60GB hard drive and many other features. hope this was sufficent information for you to decide on what system you would like to get...i personally am going to get the Nintindo Wii because i already own a 360 and i am going to wait until the PS3 drops under the $350 mark before buying it.

xbox 360 is much ebtter for the cost.

it is easier to develop for and is nearly as powerful as the xbox 360. I'd say power diference on it ranges from 10% more pwoerful than the ps3 in terms of real-world performance through 15% slower. It costs half as much though.

also there is the little fact PS3 has horrible yields on its components, Cell is a great idea for a CPU, it was meant ot do everything, GFX and CPU use, but it just couldn't and yields

a rather large number of developers have actually stopped development on the ps3.

in short i don't trust radical technology with overheating problems a high lieklyhood of component failure and a high price tag.

Also PS3 is going for about 2000$ on ebay right now.

FYI the 500$ version which has none fo the extra features features liek HDTV support you ntoed.

    again

GFX on both systems are very compareable.

the Xenos Core is comapreable to a radeon x1800XT in terms of performance though architecturally it more closely resembles the next gen upcoming r600 core it also has 10mb of high speed off die l1 cache which is good for antialiasing and the RSX core in the PS3 is comapreable to a slightly downgraded 7800GTX.

graphics wise both are very compareable, the if games are coded very well then the Xbox 360 will be capable of better graphics in most cases, but cell in itself does have a lot more room for growth. Both the xbox 360 and the PS3 have processors being made by IBM(360 has a modified PPC part running with 3 cores at 3.2GHz, Cell is based off the PPC architecture but is much mroe powerful in my opinion it is too radical and architecture to be used at this time but it is the future)

all in all though both consoles are obsolete in terms of their hardware(graphics wise) all the console fan boys are out getting consoles and braggin about the graphics. All the PC users had this tech available two years ago. Current tech(GeForce 8800) is about 3 times as poWerful as that in the ps3.

I'd say PS3. If your on a tight budget though, get a 360. They're available now as opposed to the ps3s which are all basically pre-ordered.

The PS3 graphics, from what ive seen so far are a minor if any upgrade from the 360s, definetely not worth the price tag. Plus game wise the 360 has better exclusive titles. Get a 360, or a Wii, which just owns the other too.

WHo cares about graphics? Games make a console.

    PS : Wrong section :]
