here is the link of my PC spec http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1008842/1008842sp3.shtml (yah it's gateway) the only thing that I've upgraded so far is my video card to eVGA Nvidia Geforce 7600GS (i know it sucks for some of u guys) cuz it's the only one I cud afford right now, now that I have enough money at least I wanna upgrade some parts, what would be a good upgrade for this?
hmm, maybe a ram upgrade? only thing that looks like needing an upgrade... a 7600 is ok, you can always save up for the 8 series..
8 series won't have affordabel cards out for a whjile it's always high end released w/ someone old mroe stable tech then midend to perfect newer manufacturing technolgies, the a relaunch of the highend. what's you're budget? 85$ - ATI Radeon x800GTO http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814131007 $110 - nVidia GeForce 7600GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130062
my budget is $500 right now, I just got my video card about 2 months ago so I think I won't be needing one right now but it's kinda woerd how &600GT is cheaper than 7600GS, which has the higher performance anyway... I'm still trying to get a better sound card because I have a integrated one, I need some memory too, I don't know how much I should go up though... so my prority right now is sound card, memory and lastly the video card
ahh misunderstod thoght you were looking to buy a new card.. asside from adding mor RAM there isn't really much you would want to do. Toss in 2GB more off DDR1 RAM and it should last you a bit(for a total of 3GB which is effectively all DIMM slots occupied meaning any further upgrades woudl require you to toss your old RAM) since your IMC can't handle 4 sticks at the DDR400 dicider, you could pretty much buy the cheapest set of DDR400 RAM out there and it would offer decent performance.
any suggestions on video cards wouldn't hurt proabably u could give me some tips but about the sound cards, is there any need for me to change it?
well... for video card, I'd suggest a x800gto, or a x850xt... for sound, if you have this on your board: then youre fine, you have 7.1 capabilities, good enough. You may want to upgrade your speakers if you are still on two or three speakers. The logitech X-530 is awesome, i have it myself.
I dont think so, you can play almost every game with the 7600GS, not on high though but it's ok. I'd say get a nice 2x1GB DDR400 kit. And as if you want a better soundcard, the soundblaster audigy4 is a good choiche. Also, if you need more space you can buy a bigger HDD. You might also want to upgrade your speakers, just as Master said the x530 is great
tnx, I'll try to look for it, I got a 2.1 speakers by sony but I'll just give it to my sister's comp cuz her's suck, time to go shopping some parts EDIT: I was just looking at the specs of my video card and I saw the requirements for the power supply and said 400 watts but my curent one power supply is only 300 watts but it's working... is that fine? http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?...w=specs&family=
