OK maybe its me or somethin gbut im having a really big problem with the crews on GR.

WTF is the purpose of having a crew/team? TO elevate and get better at GFX. Am i right?

IF soo WHAY THE ---- DO THE MEMBERS SET SUCH HIGH STANDARDS TO GET IN? ITS LIKE YOU WANT THE BEST.

You guys dont have crew battles. SO whats the point of having the bets? TO go around saying
"Oh we have the best. We design the best blah blah blah."

It urks me that people who actually WANT TO GET BETTER at graphics arent "up to par" with the leaders expectations therefore not good enough to join?.

If i could i would start a crew and yeah people would have to post work to get in but damnit if they really wanted to get better thats all i need.

    Smh

We do have crew battles, they simply are normally not GR based, as the voting tends to take place at a non-biased community so that votes aren't swayed by the crew or the people.

As with my crew, we monitor all the members for 2 weeks before they gain full acceptance to see how much they improve and how much effort they put into improving. If they are good, but lazy, that doesn't put help the crew at all, and they won't stay in.

Also, I know from my crew experience that you try to separate the people you let in based on their individual talents, whether it be signatures, large art, web design, 3D work, etc. and then they help others gain in that particular field while the others help each other as well, ultimately improving your graphics technique/ability all around.

That stil doesent justify that whats the point of having a crew (besides making LP and selling them) that also wants people tp get better if you want people in the crew that need not get better..

    WTF?!

^^I understand that. But why not help people grow as designers also? Its alot easier for someone with a steady group of people helping them out constantly to get better then someone on their own.

Thats where your logic fails. Art is based on the mind, and it will continually increase its boundries as individuals become more 'graphically inclined'.

The techniques and graphical design talents of anyone registered at GR are not at a ----- level. While they may be better than a substantial amount of GR members, in the grand scheme of graphical design they are nowhere near it, which I know thats what my personal crew goes for. We may be '---' across lower end graphics sites like this (no offense to GR, but it is a signature/basic LP site), but when it comes to artists at like depthcore or DeviantArt with thousands of +favs, we really can't compare. Also, no, that isn't saying that we may have the .01% of the community who can compare, just a vast majority of us can't.

Also, most crews don't sell LPs, especially not at GR. Large art is, as most LP people will tell you, done for the artist, and not for the profit. The only exceptions would be like being hired to make the LP, or having an LP that doesn't mean much to you (and all of my LPs thus far except templates have meant alot to me personally).

Also note that alot of the people in GR crews have no intention of simply staying here, they wanna max out their experience here and move onto bigger and better things.

Yea, crews only want the best, so only the best get in, leaving those who want to improve out, making the gap between the "---" and "moderate/-------" sig designers even larger.

Sure if I was in a crew I'd want to get better, but if I have to be really good to get in, then it'd be just to help the crew show off members instead of really gain anything.

wtf is the purpose of this post? Ok so say you like basketball, you try out for the team. Why? To play other people with skill, and try to get even better. If they didn't have high standards and anyone could get in, whats the point of making a crew?
